WBG Finances Platform Terms of Use

The International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (“World Bank“), International Development Association (“IDA”), Multilateral Investment Guarantee Association “MIGA”), and the International Finance Corporation (“IFC”), collectively, the “World Bank Group,” and its officers, agents, employees, and any content providers, maintain this website entitled the WBG Finances Platform (the “Platform”) as part of their efforts to provide broad public access to data and information for sustainable development. We encourage parties accessing or utilizing the Platform (“Users”) to use the information and data it contains, as well as communication tools designed to facilitate this use. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the Platform, its data, communication tools, and any new tools made available that alter or improve the use of the Platform or the data shall be subject to this Agreement (“Terms of Use”).

The World Bank General Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, accessible through a link from the Platform, are incorporated herein by reference. Where these WBG Finances Terms of Use conflict with the World Bank General Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy, these WBG Finances Platform Terms of Use shall control. I understand that accepting these Terms of Use is a condition precedent to being able to access the Platform’s data, and I will not be allowed to proceed unless I have agreed. I also understand that these Terms of Use may be amended by the World Bank from time to time at its sole discretion.

I understand and agree that the World Bank Group allows me to use data extracted or downloaded from the Platform subject to my compliance with certain license terms, but still retains any existing copyright to all of the data documentation and data sets on the Platform, unless specifically noted to the contrary.
I understand and agree that unless otherwise labeled, data in the Platform was generated and is owned by the World Bank Group. This data, and visualizations and projects using this data, may be downloaded, exported, and used by me only if I comply with the terms of a Creative Commons Attribution license (CC BY 3.0 IGO). The full terms of this license, including the restrictions on use that I agree to accept, can be found at: (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/igo/).
I understand and agree that some data within the WBG Finances Platform is not generated or owned by the World Bank Group, but is provided or generated by third party contributors. I agree that this data may not be available subject to the CC BY 3.0 IGO license, but under different terms. This data is labeled as third party data, and is available for extraction and download only under the specific license terms applicable to that third party data.
I understand and agree that nothing in these Terms of Use may be interpreted to reduce, limit or restrict the exclusive rights of the owner(s) of the information, documents and materials contained in the Platform under copyright law, neighboring rights law, database law or other applicable laws.
I understand and agree that nothing in these Terms of Use shall constitute or be considered an authorization to use the name, emblem or official seal of any of the World Bank Group institutions or any abbreviation of such names for advertising or for any other purposes. The World Bank names and logos are property of the World Bank, and subject to the intellectual property rights of The World Bank. I also understand and agree that the grant of any license to use materials from the Platform does not and shall not be used to convey or suggest, directly or indirectly, endorsement or support by the World Bank of my services or products. Neither the names of the World Bank nor the names of its contributors may be used to endorse or promote products as a result of use of Platform materials.
I understand and agree that any maps or geographic information displayed on the WBG Finances Platform are for reference only. The boundaries, colors, denominations and any other information shown on these maps do not imply, on the part of the World Bank, any judgment on the legal status of any territory, or any endorsement or acceptance of such boundaries.
I understand and agree that this Platform and the data it contains do not imply any opinion, judgment or endorsement on the part of the World Bank, and that the findings, interpretations, and conclusions implicitly or explicitly expressed in the data in this Platform are those of the various contributors to the Platform and are not necessarily those of the World Bank Group's Boards of Executive Directors or its member countries.
I agree that I may not publicly represent or imply that the World Bank is participating in, or has sponsored, approved or endorsed the manner or purpose of my use or reproduction of data and information from the Platform. I understand and agree that the World Bank retains all rights to prosecute, to the fullest extent of the law, any use of its data in a manner that falsifies, misrepresents, disparages or fraudulently uses the data, or disparages or harms the reputation of the World Bank.

I understand and agree that all data and information in the Platform is provided for informational purposes only and does not constitute financial, legal, policy, or scientific advice, or service. The World Bank makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, as to the accuracy or reliability of the data or the tools contained therein. Users should seek qualified expert advice for any financial analysis. Any use of or reliance on this Platform is at User’s own sole and independent discretion and responsibility.
I understand and agree that the World Bank reserves the right at any time, and from time to time, to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Platform and any means of accessing or utilizing the Platform at our sole discretion with or without prior notice to Users. Similarly, the World Bank may at its sole discretion, under any circumstances, for any or no reason whatsoever and with or without prior notice to Users, terminate Users’ access to the Platform and any means of accessing or utilizing the Platform.
I understand and agree that the World Bank assumes no responsibility for monitoring the Platform for inappropriate content or conduct. If at any time the World Bank chooses, in its sole discretion to monitor the Platform, the World Bank nonetheless assumes no responsibility for the content of the Platform, no obligation to modify or remove any inappropriate content, and no responsibility for the conduct of any User in submitting any such content.
I understand and agree that nothing on the Platform shall be construed, implicitly or explicitly, as containing any investment recommendations. The World Bank is not registered under the U.S. Investment Advisers Act of 1940. Accordingly, nothing on the Platform nor any of its data, constitutes an offer of or an invitation by or on behalf of the World Bank to purchase or sell any shares or securities, nor should it be considered as investment advice.
